There Was Christmas Too

I wrote a blog on Christmas Eve, and New Year's Eve too, but in between there was Christmas. On Christmas Day Steve and I woke up fairly early and got the girls up so they could open presents before breakfast. We tried not to get them too many princess things, so they got new baby dolls, baby doll accessories, and Legos - and just a few princess things:)

After presents Steve and I started breakfast for our now yearly tradition of having friends over for breakfast on Christmas morning. Since Steve has to work all day Christmas Eve, as do many of our musician friends, we decided it would be fun to have breakfast with those friends the next day. Last year we had three friends over, this year there were eight.

Then we drove up to my mom and dad's in a snow storm and the rest is history. We opened more presents, ate WAY too much food, went shopping the day after Christmas, and played Catan several times a day, all perfectly traditional. It was great!

Here are a few pics:

Waiting to open presents is a LOT of work...

This is a slightly blurry pic of my adorable nephew Tyvan who decided this Christmas that he actually likes me (finally!). I was excited when we were eating lunch one day that he wanted me to help him with his bites instead of his dad. Yesssss. And he just looks so stinkin' cute in this picture.

Tryn got army men for her cousin Brendyn for Christmas, by the influence of her father...let's just say that these army men got used a lot, but not really by anyone under the age of four. And there aren't any kids older than four...ahem :)

LOL, I love the picture of Berlin waiting for gifts, like it's so exhausting!
