Not Me!

It has been a long time since I have done a Not Me! post. Really, months and months. However, there were several things that happened this last week when I thought, "I can't believe I just did that." So, here goes...

Last week while we were getting in the car to head out to Sebastian Joe's for some ice cream I realized that Berlin was smelling pretty foul, if you know what I mean. I grabbed her and rushed back in the house to changer her. Since Steve and Tryn were already getting in the car, and since Berlin has zero patience for diaper changing, I was trying to hurry. As I took off the diaper I realized that there was a little residue on the bottom of her onsie. I definitely did NOT just take a wipe, swipe at it the best I could, button her up, and leave the house with a poop stain on my daughter's shirt.

Speaking of Berlin, she is getting to be such a big girl. She tries to help with lots of things and always wants to do what Tryn is doing. So, the other day when she was only half finished with her dinner she decided she wanted to hand me her plate and say that she was "all done", just like a big girl. Well, her plate hit the table, fell from her hands, and hit the floor - food everywhere. I most definitely did not pick up all that food, put it back on her plate, and feed her every bite. I also did not let her pick up a piece that I missed and eat it after she had gotten down from her highchair. I would never do that, that is disgusting.

On Saturday I took the girls to the beach. The girls love the beach. They love playing in the water and sand. Unfortunately, no matter how many times I dip or rinse them off, they are always still covered in sand when we get to the car. This time I tried a technique where I carried a bucket of water with us to rinse feet and things once we actually got to the car. Well, while I was busy bending down trying to get sand out from between toes I did not, after about two or three minutes, look down at myself and realize that part of me had come completely free from the upper region of my swimsuit. I would never be so distracted trying to take care of my kids that I wouldn't feel something like that. There were about 30 people playing beach volleyball about 10 yards from me and a man getting a drink from a fountain close enough to me that I could see the whites of his eyes. Ahem. Oops. That totally did not happen, I am a much classier mom than that.

I have been there done that, all but the last one, thank goodness. Lets pretend we are from say... France and don't care about things like that. French moms are still classy. One oops that you might enjoy from this weekend was that I got all ready for a wedding and then panicked because I had to much of this new hair stuff I just got from Bed Head and it was greasy and gross, so with only 30 minutes lift I re-showered, re-dressed and makeup-ed. But Ben who was in the wedding and did not see me till he came back down the isle winked at me and made all that running around worth it. :) That will teach me to try a new hair thing a few times before the big day.
