I have to admit that I haven’t had much time to write on my blog recently. I mean, I spend a lot of time cleaning the house, doing laundry, cleaning cars, cleaning kids, cooking meals, running errands, reading princess books, grocery shopping, playing with kids, did I mention cleaning kids?:), and working for 40 hours every week. However, I am here to admit that the reason I have not posted a blog in almost a week is because I have a guilty pleasure. I, along with my husband, have been living in the world of Hogwarts School of Wizardry and the life of Harry Potter.
Yes, as if I don't read enough kid's books during the day, I am obsessed with reading a series of children’s books.
We started reading the first one while we were on vacation in the middle of April. We are now approaching the end of the series and have watched four of the five movies that are out, and are very excited about the sixth movie coming out this July.
We are fully in. We can even get rather high scores on the online quizzes about the stories.
I never got into the series when it was first out and really popular because I couldn’t figure out why in the world I would really enjoy books written to 13 year olds. I remember hearing about people standing in line at midnight to get the next book as it was released and I thought they were crazy. I remember hearing about employees not being able to open the boxes of books until midnight on that said day at the risk of being fired and I thought they were crazy.
I would never do that. I would definitely never go see the midnight showing of the movie that comes out in July…Um, pretty sure I am definitely going to be there at midnight. Shoot.

Haha, it happens to the best of us. You guys will have to read Twilight next.
Oh, and now we have somebody to play Harry Potter scene-it with... we got that game like four years ago and only played it a few times because we never had people to play it with.
Welcome to the fan club! I think I read the last one (and thickest one) the fastest. Isn't it the best feeling to get sucked in?
i had to read one of the books. in COLLEGE. it was a TEXTBOOK. anyway i was so annoyed i was being forced to read it that i didn't enjoy it. i bet i'd totally get sucked in if i started the series though... i bet i'd like twilight too...
The question is, what are we all getting sucked in to ?
Getting sucked into: Good writing. Wizzards, Vampires whatever. . . sometimes a story's plot or the nature of the characters is not so important as the fact that they feel the same things we do, hope for the same things we hope for, and, as with all fantasy—yearn (as we do) for the day when evil will be destroyed and right will prevail. :)
Nice post Heidi. Keep reading!
welcome!
don't you find yourself thinking about EVERYTHING in terms of hogwarts? and don't you miss harry when you're not reading?
